We are opening our volunteer Programme in mid-June 2021 for people who want to participate in the development of the Farm; the volunteer Programme will provide you with a unique learning experience in a closed-loop agricultural project in rural Spain; exploring all aspects of off-grid project design, irrigation, water management, crop selection, germination, nursery management, geodesic dome construction, planting techniques, and agriculture and the use of the Internet of things. We can help you with local accommodation, travel planning and transfer to and from the Farm; you will also have to comply with our health and safety protocols due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
We develop our Volunteer Programme through the Green Lab Granja Agrarian Association. If you want to volunteer, fill out the registration form .
Among the purposes of Green Lab Granja is the promotion of Volunteering.
What does it mean to be a volunteer? It is that person who, by their own choice, dedicates part of their time to solidarity, altruistic action, without receiving remuneration for it, with a disinterested motivation to help. Volunteering is a way of being, a freely chosen option, a vision of social responsibility from the commitment to an organised group whose purpose is to help others and that establishes some objectives to be covered in a non-profit organisation.
We are all called to be volunteers, to be part of the agents of change that our society needs and to make that change a reality.
Volunteering consolidates social cohesion and trust by promoting individual and collective actions, in addition to containing in its essence a substantial “domino effect”, since it inspires other people and drives transformation.
Volunteers will receive ongoing training, gain experience, receive guidance and support, strengthen their self-esteem, be treated with respect, interact with people from diverse backgrounds, actively participate and be part of the history of the organization , they will have an accreditation as volunteers and most importantly, they will know that they are contributing to improve our society.
In addition to training in Sustainability, Ecology and Biodiversity, we introduce training in Circular Economy and Closed Cycle Production.
The circular economy is based on 3 basic principles: Preserving and enhancing natural capital, controlling finite reserves and balancing the flows of renewable resources. Optimize the performance of resources by distributing products, components and materials with their maximum utility.
The main benefits of the circular economy are the following: Reduce expenses and save money through prevention, reuse and eco-design; Avoid losses during the production of goods; Use the least amount of energy possible during the production of products and ensure that it can be renewed so that the products are not discarded, but rather are recycled to produce other products.
We refer to Closed Cycle Production as a solution to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. The concept of Closed Cycle Production (CCP) is based on an innovative design as a production paradigm called “Cradle to Cradle ”or“ from the Cradle-to-the-Cradle ”. This new paradigm implies a design perspective that seeks eco-efficiency in the first place and where it focuses on the development of industrial or manufacturing processes where the materials used for the creation of a product become valuable nutrients when they meet their needs. use by the final consumer and have reached the end of its useful life.
Closed cycle production not only includes the rational use of materials and resources, but also implies a fundamental approach in the sustainable design of products and services to make a leap towards a sustainable and sustainable closed cycle industry, which is capable of offering high-quality products to its customers and incentivise countries to achieve a circular economy. Our focus is on sustainable agricultural production, a decisive sector in the future of Humanity.
